Last week we met again, at a nice coffee-place called "Mitte", Rubinstein Street.
It's fascinating to meet with an interesting and talented group of people, to drink some coffee and to share our creative plans in the framework of Jewish ArtLab project, to discuss the texts we've been studying with Zach and Sara at the first our session.

1 And the Lord said to Abram, "Go forth from your land and from your birthplace and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you.
2 And I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will aggrandize your name, and [you shall] be a blessing
3 And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you."
4 And Abram went, as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him, and Abram was seventy five years old when he left Haran.

The Mishnah in Pirkei Avot (5:4) states: “Our forefather Abraham was tested with ten trials and he withstood all of them – to show the degree of our forefather Abraham’s love for G-d”.

- Is it easy for one to leave it all behind, his well-being for an obscurity? He was wealthy and respected.
- Why did G-d pick Avraham, why him in particular?
- because he was respected, had an authority and people would follow him
- he knew about One God even before that, even though he lived among pagans
- he was smart and educated
- Who went with him?
- How many wives did he have?
- Avraham's motivation - posterity! At the moment he didn't have children and G-d promised him posterity, and a great one - a nation!
- Why Lot is mentioned in particular, but other important names are not mentioned?
- How did G-d communicate with Avraham? Directly, through dreams, in a different way?
- Why thanks to Avraham G-d will bless all the other families of the world? All of them? Why not only those that will be Avraham's posterity?
- A woman is a mover of this situation! Sara actually convinced Avraham to go so that they could have children!
Pirkey Avot
The Mishnah in Pirkei Avot (5:4) states: “Our forefather Abraham was tested with ten trials and he withstood all of them – to show the degree of our forefather Abraham’s love for G-d”.
- Why did Avraham get 10 tests? Because he had to keep what he had when leaving Haran, to carry it throuh his all life.
- Leaving for a journey, you just change your location or break all the connections you had?
- Avraham had no idea where he was going! No coordinates! Did he imagine this country?

Marina: Does the goal worth means? Killings for capturing Promised Land?
Polina: What is this Promised Land for a person? What is that perfect space? Super-people are going to be born there, how does this place look like, how should it look like?
Yana: What's the difference between Avraham and Hertzel? How did G-d talk to them? What do they have in common?
Tanya: What was the main Avraham's motivation? Vainglory? Blind beliefe?Posterity? Curiosity?
